These glass baubles are from north-east China following an ancient tradition of handcraft. Amazingly, they are hand-painted on the inside using fine specialist painting hooks and brushes.

The finished baubles are only about two inches across with a small hole in the top through which the painting tools are inserted and used to paint the scene in reverse on he inside.

It can take a skilled craftsperson a week to complete an elaborate scene.

In the video you will see how this type of bauble is painted. Our selection is created exclusively for us and comes individually boxed in beautiful padded boxes for transport and long-term storage.
